Politics in a nutshell
As you may or may not already know. Politics (especially in America) Is quite the puppet show. So we got the left-wing democrats whom preach social equality versus the right-wing republicans whom claim that by protecting and progressing the interest of the higher class the benefits will trickle down to the lower classes. In reality they are hand puppets, one entity in the shadows with each hand up either of their backside, putting on quite the show whilst encouraging the audience to choose a side so that the other could be their enemy, adhering to the degenerate human desire for conflict that some of us still have not evolved beyond. Indeed while a lefty is in office there will be superficial steps taken in the direction of what would turn into a socialist bureaucracy if not for the rights taking a U-turn toward capitalist oligarchy when its their turn to dance. As some of us may be able to observe, the result is that either side may be content with the opposing sides discontent for around a decade or less until the shoe switches. Nobody's really happy and with either side being in office none of the major issues have ever really been dealt with. Instead they choose to rabblerouse over minor issues played upon the illogical beliefs of the masses.

I honestly think more sense would be made if they literally just flung their feces at each other. At least it's something what would make me more interested in observing.

All politics and politicians do is distract us common folk from real matters, and make us "think" we are in control. The system for the people, by the people, died a long time ago. If any of you have seen the cartoon, "Avatar, The Last Airbender". There is an episode where one of the characters (Soka) spends, pretty much, the whole episode palming his forehead. By the end of it, he has a rather large mark on his forehead. This is how I feel some days lol.
